Visitor (subclass 600)

Visitor visa (subclass 600)  visa lets foreign nationals to visit Australia for tourism or business purpose for a short period of time. Visa duration and entry permit may vary depending on the streams and intended activity in Australia.

Visa applicants can not include their family members in their visa application. Each family member should make a separate application.

There are a few visa streams to choose from according to your intended activity in Australia, country of passport you hold and your relationship with any Australian permanent residence or citizen.

Tourist stream

This visitor visa stream allows visa holders to visit friends and family, have a holiday, tourist and recreational activities.
This visa stream also may suit you, if you hold another visa that is expiring and wants to stay longer.

This visa might be granted up to 12 months with multiple entry. Visa holder also eligible to study for 3 months in Australia if visa duration allows doing so.

If visa granted with single entry, the visa holder cannot re-enter in Australia on the same visa. They must apply for another visa to enter Australia again.

If visa granted with multiple entry, visa holder able to re-enter Australia multiple times duration of their visa.

If visa granted without no further stay conditions, then visa holder may eligible to apply for another visa class if required.

Sponsored Family stream

This stream for those who are sponsored by a family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

This stream is similar to the Tourist stream, but this stream requires to be sponsored, Mandatory No further stay condition, also sponsor may need to pay a security bond if requested by the department.

Parents of an Australian citizen or permanent resident could be granted a visa for longer than 12 months.

Business Visitor stream

This stream for those who are visiting Australia for business activities.

Visa holders can not be involved in any paid activity in Australia. Their purpose should be business-related. Applicant must be outside Australia at the time of application and application decision.

This visa might be granted up to 12 months with multiple entry.

Approved Destination Status stream

This visa stream is for citizens of the People's Republic of China (excluding SARs) visit Australia on a tour organised by an approved travel agent. Visa holder must remain with the organised tour group

Frequent traveller stream

This visa stream is for citizens of the People's Republic of China (excluding SARs) who travel often to Australian for business or personal reasons.

This visa could be granted for up to 10 years with up to 3 months stay on each visit.

This visa stream is the most expensive among all other visitor visa stream. As of April 2020, the application fee is AUD 1,065.
